“KISSING AND HUGGING DON’T SPREAD HIV, IGNORANCE DOES”
The 1st of December marks World AIDS day, commemorating those who have passed away from AIDS, and raising awareness about ways in which to prevent the spread of the HIV virus. More than that, World AIDS day has become a day to educate people towards removing the stigma attached to being HIV+.
AIDS has been named one of the most damaging pandemics of our time, and although the antiretroviral treatments available today have significantly reduced the impact of the virus, over 2 million people a year, most of them in developing nations with poor access to healthcare, lose their lives to AIDS.
